Glenn Patton – South Glengarry

If elected, would you make climate action a priority, and if so, how would you ensure that state-of-the art-energy reduction methods are included in the assessment of all municipal activities, spending and investments – both capital and on-going management?
  • Thru our excellent staff, professionals & consultants continue to support the current regulations on this matter as provided by the 3 levels of government & authorities.
Do you think your main street/downtown is successful – why or why not?  If elected, what specific actions, changes and improvements would you make to ensure a healthy and successful downtown/main street?
  • Through our great Community Improvement program and the Counties level too, all the Main Streets are eligible for assistance and guidance thru our staff & Council. I will continue to promote this , as well as always looking out for safety, on traffic issues, and any new enterprises looking to locate in our communities!
If elected, how would you go about ensuring the replacement of tree cover lost in your municipality as a result of the Emerald Ash Borer?
  • I will need to consult experts on the matter, as well as the province/federal government to see what our actions should be, along with our staff.
If elected, what waste management initiatives would you support toward increasing waste diversion and what targets would you like to set for your municipality?
  • Yet again, waste reduction benefits us all in costs, and environmental impact. I will review our Townships plans on the matter, and make informed decisions.
