Ambitious Plans for Local Forests

There are some hidden games in the area, and a new working group with the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry has some big plans for them.

The United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry has an ambitious plan to take seven forested areas and turn them into recreational and ecological areas, complete with their own names, signage, and trails.

A working group made up of county staff, and representatives from conservation authorities and the provincial government was formed in August to identify which wooded areas would be ideal to be turned into public recreation areas. After months of work the seven forests were revealed at the county council’s meeting on Monday.
