Saturday, January 28 at 1 pm at Aultsville Theatre – This film is a Canadian documentary written by (and starring) Lawrence Gunther, Ottawa-based radio host and fisherman, who also happens to be blind. The film chronicles his cross-Canada journey to study our great rivers and learn about the concerns for local fisheries (including a great bit about carp filmed in Long Sault). Lawrence’s insight and ability to connect with the people he meets provides a thoughtful and inspiring look at our country and the challenges we face. Lawrence will be joining us at the screening to present the film and Q&A afterward – he is an engaging and charismatic speaker, and I think you will enjoy meeting him. Jeff Ridal and other River Institute staff will also be present to answer questions and discuss issues pertaining to the St. Lawrence River. Hope you can join us!tickets are $15, available in advance at the Civic Complex Box Office, or at the Aultsville Theatre box office 1 hr prior to the screening.
