Akwesasne Promoting Solar Program

A program that makes investing in solar power easier and more affordable for local residents and businesses has come to Akwesasne.

“Our Solarize Akwesasne launch has been a collective effort,” said Sub-Chief Shelley Jacobs. “This is a transformational green initiative that will impact our environment, our energy efficiency, and create employment opportunities.”

Solarize Akwesasne, the local campaign tag name, is a short-term effort that aims to bring groups of potential solar customers through widespread outreach and education.

Through a rigorous request for proposal process, this group will select a qualified solar contractor(s) to install solar panels and hot water solar systems throughout the communities.
